Wall-less Bathroom

People always say "Kitchens and Bathrooms sell houses". I tend to agree. Today we'll dive into the bathroom remodel. You're gonna have to sit through the boring living rooms and bedrooms before we get to the kitchen though.

Not much to work with in this bathroom. With this old layout, you entered into a 24in door, then had about a 1.5 or 2 ft "hallway" before it "opened up" to the crammed vanity, toilet and tub. The vanity in the before pictures was only 18 inches wide. This is the only bathroom in the home. Not ideal. Probably the best decision in this entire project was to eliminate the small hall closet that was causing the the narrow entryway. It only added 2 or 3 sq ft, but it allowed a wider entrance, a 36inch vanity, and more space between the vanity end and toilet.

Besides that, everything else was a straightforward rip it out and replace it. New vanity and vessel sink, new high efficiency toilet, and new Delta soaking tub. The tub got a custom tile surround, while the vanity and toilet wall got a "knock off" shiplap look (rip down 1/8" plywood sheets into about 6inches thick, nail them up, then caulk, paint, and clearcoat). Tile floors completed the room.
